About Eat, Learn, Live (ELL)

Every child has an innate right to safely consume manufactured foods and to safely engage in learning environments.

Every child must be provided the right to eat, to learn and to live safely without jeopardy to one’s life.

Hence, the creation of Eat, Learn, Live (ELL).

Eat, Learn, Live (ELL) is a not-for-profit foundation created to raise awareness of food labeling inaccuracies, to provide advocacy in creating safe educational environments, and to provide tools to assist those affected by food allergies and anaphylaxis.

Our efforts are on behalf of the more than 12 million Americans and 2.2 million school-aged children who have a food allergy.

EAT

  • Advocate for accuracy in food labeling and lobby local and federal government to enforce penalties for those not adhering to existing labeling laws.
  • Disseminate information regarding mislabeling and product recalls and maintain a database of manufacturers that do not voluntarily rectify labeling errors.

LEARN

  • Assist schools and other learning institutions in creating standard policies and procedures that can be consistently applied to insure safety for children with food allergies.
  • Evaluate the need for alternative “safe” learning environments for children with food allergies.
  • Provide consultative services to school faculty and families faced with food safety issues and issues related to safety within learning environments.

LIVE

  • Provide a community forum for the exchange of comments, questions, and suggestions relative to food safety and safety for children in the learning environment.
  • Create and promote products that provide added safety for children with food allergies in both social and learning environments.
  • Further support and promote activities for FAAN and other leading resources supporting food allergies.

ELL supports the rights of all people to eat safe, learn safe, and live safely when challenged with life-threatening food allergies!
